This silicon PU sports flooring project for a community public basketball court is located in Chengdu, Sichuan, with a total installation area of approximately 1,650 m². The flooring is mainly applied to the outdoor community basketball court, court-side buffer zones and resident fitness activity areas, supporting daily basketball training, recreational sports and community public activities. As the facility is open to local residents for long-term public use, it experiences frequent daily traffic and continuous exposure to sunlight, rain, temperature fluctuations and wear from sports activities. Therefore, the flooring requires good slip resistance, cushioning performance, wear resistance and outdoor weather resistance. A silicon PU sports flooring system was installed throughout the project. Before installation, the existing substrate was inspected, followed by surface cleaning, local grinding, crack repair, expansion joint treatment and flatness adjustment to provide a stable base for the sports flooring system. During installation, the elastic layer, reinforced layer, colored topcoat and sports court markings were applied in sequence. Particular attention was given to coating thickness, surface anti-slip texture, court flatness and color zoning between different functional areas. The completed sports surface is smooth, clearly colored and provides suitable elasticity to help reduce impact during physical activity. It also offers good slip resistance, wear resistance and weather resistance, meeting the needs of daily basketball, fitness activities and long-term public use by community residents.
